**** For SaleI have for sale, a highly functional,
Honda Grom Stand Kit.
I have a Grom. I bought 2 stands, one for the front, one for the rear. The front stand was very wobbly, good chance of the bike falling. The rear stand was better but the height wasn't adjustable, and it couldn't be used to remove the rear shock or swingarm. And both stands were extremely clumsy to store when they weren't being used.
So I designed something simpler and better and made a few extras.
My design bolts a precision machined, 5/8" thick aluminum plate to the front 2 of the 4 open threaded holes on the bottom of the Honda 125 engine. These holes are where the Honda Monkey footpegs mount and are unused on Groms. If your Grom is stretched, use the 2 rear holes. The plate has clearance cutouts for the oil drain plug and cam tensioner.
There are 3 large threaded holes in the machined aluminum plate. On the right side, choose the hole that best avoids your exhaust pipe. Screw the two included threaded support rods into the machined plate. The lower end of the threaded rods go thru the included long wood cross piece that will set on the included wood blocks and wood spacers. By tilting the bike side to side, the wood blocks and spacers can be added under the wood cross piece until you get the front or rear tire ground clearance you desire. 1/2" tire clearance is plenty for just adjusting the chain.
If you need to remove the rear wheel, the axle height can be easily adjusted so you don't have to lift the rear wheel at all. Especially when reinstalling the wheel, trying to keep everything in alignment, and reinserting the axle, while holding the wheel up, can be difficult. It's much easier to just roll the wheel in and out of place with no lifting.
If the front wheel is removed, the front becomes much lighter and stays up with no stand in the way to trip over.
Included are 2 pairs of threaded support rods, 4 total, 2 different lengths in case your bike is lowered. You'll want to snug up the big nuts but nothing has to be extremely tight.
The wood pieces have been sanded and given one coat of clear lacquer to seal the wood. The larger 4 piece wood blocks have been glued and screwed together. This is a very strong and stable support kit.
Save the box it comes in, it stores everything very compactly.
This is not a difficult assembly, you'll soon understand it.
